Esther Isabelita Herrera Saavedra, age 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, July 7, 2017. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Zenon and Mercedes (Baca) Herrera; her brothers Samuel and wife Antonia, Gavino and wife Ramona, Delfin, Juan Jose, Ramon, Marc and Abelicio; her sisters Gabriella, Eloisa and husband Joe Luna, and Anna Jensen; brothers in law Andy Dominguez, Archie Montoya, Ben Vega; former spouse Moises Saavedra and her beloved daughter Lisa Sally Mercedes Saavedra Padilla. Esther is survived by her son James Herrera, grand daughters Andrea Herrera and Christie Herrera and husband Gerardo Pereira, great-grandchildren Isabella and Graciela Placeres and Vicente and Mateo Pereira-Herrera: sisters Delfinia Dominguez, Gabie Vega, Lupe Montoya, Peggy Ortiz and husband Joe, Sally Carrillo and husband Juan; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday, July 14th, at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix Avenue, NE, ABQ, NM, 87110, with a reciting of the rosary at 9:30 am and a funeral mass at 10 am. Burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Reception to follow.
