Bringing your Loved Ones Home
When a loved one has passed on in another state and you seek to bury them here in New Mexico, Gabaldon Mortuary in Albuquerque can help. We can also respectfully ship your loved one to another state or country, to the final place of disposition.
Mortuary Shipping to New Mexico
According to the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), 33% of all deaths occur out of the deceased’s home state or country. Bringing that loved one home to our state can sometimes seem like a complicated process with the federal laws in place that provide certain requirements and guidelines, but the expertise of Gabaldon Mortuary coordinates and dispatches staff to ensure your loved one will return safely and with great care.
Our status with the TSA to perform mortuary shipping, allows us to schedule flights to New Mexico whenever necessary and receive discounts from airlines to pass to the loved ones of the deceased. When we receive a deceased person from another state, the following should be included:
- Authorization Forms
- The Burial / Transfer Permit
If you want to ship a loved one who has been cremated out of state, we can also accept this loved one at our mortuary. Once the cremation has taken place, the urn or container must be packed into a vessel and shipped priority.
There are other documents required for out of country shipping. However, the staff of Gabaldon Mortuary will walk you through every detail as needed.
Transporting Human Remains out of New Mexico
