Alfonso Montoya

Alfonso “Tony” Montoya, age 83, born in Wagon Mound, New Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on November 26, 2021. Alfonso is survived by his children, Adam Montoya, Richard Montoya and wife, Marina, Joseph Montoya and wife, Teresa; grandchildren. Melissa, Amber, Rita, Mary, Mya, Diego, and Ava; siblings, James Montoya, David Montoya, Danny Montoya, Viola Hurtado, Willie Montoya, and Raymond Montoya; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Mr. Montoya was preceded in death by his wife, Rita; son Tony Jr.; and sister, Betty Zamora. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. Visitation will be held at Church of the Ascension Catholic Church 2150 Raymac Rd. SW. at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. also at Church of the Ascension. A committal service with military honors will be on Wednesday, December 22,2021 at 9:45 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery 501 N. Guadalupe St. in Santa Fe.
