Amarante Donicio Tafoya

Amarante Donicio Tafoya, age 99, born in Tafoya, New Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on May 4, 2025. Mr. Tafoya is survived by his children, Lorraine Sanchez, Gene Tafoya and wife, Wanda, Gladys Apodaca and husband, Dan, Tom Tafoya and wife, Patricia, Angela Trujillo and husband, Josh, Gino Tafoya and wife, Cassandra; grandchildren, Freddy Sanchez and wife, Christina, Nathan Sanchez, Daniel Apodaca, Christopher Apodaca and wife, Jessica, and Josh Peterson; great-grandchildren, Evan Tafoya, Derek Tafoya, Marisol Apodaca, Ameliana Apodaca, Roselynn Abeita and Patrick Abeita; sister, Aurora Tafoya and brother, Arthur Tafoya. He was preceded in death by his wife, Miquelita Tafoya, parents, Eugenio and Francisquita Tafoya, siblings, Cleofas Tafoya, Tito Tafoya, John Tafoya and Lerio Tafoya. Mr. Tafoya served his country proudly in the United States Army during World Warll. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church 5415 Fortuna Dr. NW on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. Final visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 8:30a.m. with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. also at Holy Rosary Church. Interment with military honors will take place at 1:30 p.m at the Santa Fe National Cemetery 501 N. Guadalupe St. in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Freddy Sanchez, Nathan Sanchez, Daniel Apodaca, Christopher Apodaca, Josh Peterson, and Gino Tafoya. Honorary Pallbearer will be Angela Trujillo
