Ambrocio Leroy Gonzales, age 78, born in Belen, New Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on December 4, 2025.
Ambrocio is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-four years, Darlene Gonzales; his children, Greg Gonzales, Denise Gomez and husband, Ryan, and Randy Gonzales; his cherished grandchildren, Sophia, Isabella, Cole, and Reese; and his great-grandson, Jaxon. He is also survived by his siblings, Helen Aramburo, Milton Gonzalez and wife, Christine, Elis Rivera, Trinidad Gonzales, and Raymond Gonzales, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albino and Juanita Gonzales, and his brother, Melecio Gonzales.
Ambrocio served his country proudly in the United States Army, where he was honorably discharged. He was a supportive husband, involved father, and loving grandfather whose family meant the world to him. His steady presence, generosity, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible VA Medical staff, including the ICU and Hospice unit in Building 80, for their kindness and loving care of their beloved Ambrocio.
On Friday, December 19, 2025, a Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m., and a Mass to follow at 10:15 a.m., all to take place at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, located at 5712 Paradise Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. A Burial will take place at a later date.
Ambrocio’s legacy of love, dedication, and family will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
