Anita Angela Barela

Anita Angela Barela, age 60, born in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on September 9, 2023. Anita is survived by her daughter, Nicole Larranaga-War and husband, Nathan War; Mother, Mary Esperanza Barela; grandchildren, Julian and Harmony War; brother, Danny Barela, and wife Charlean; sister, Maria Barela; nieces and nephews, Amanda, Antonio, Tesla, Santos, and Estevan; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Ernest Barela and father of her daughter, Martin Larranaga. Services for Anita will be held in The Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW. on Monday, September 25th at 10:00am. Interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. Reception to follow interment at La Fonda del Bosque Restaurant at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, 1701 4th St SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Anita’s family requests that you honor her memory by wearing Raiders gear or black and silver for her services.
