Arcenio Madrid

d. June 5, 2024

Arcenio “Archie” Madrid (88) left us to be with our Lord Jesus on June 5 after a 4 ½ year battle with cancer. We are grateful for every day that we were able to make memories with Archie before our Lord was ready for him. Arcenio was born in Laguna Seca, NM on April 11, 1936 and migrated to Clovis, NM where he met his wife of 65 years, Miquelita “Mickie” Diabueno. He joined the military, served in the Navy and in the National Guard and eventually retired from government service from Cannon Air Force Base after 30+ years. He eventually moved to Albuquerque where he was a member of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church and served as an usher for the 8am Sunday mass. His many hobbies included carving Santos, making crosses and working Cursillo retreats. He never met a stranger, everyone was his friend. He found comfort in giving of himself to whoever needed help.

Arcenio is survived by his wife, Mickie Madrid; children- Florence Madrid, Pauline Madrid, Diana Madrid, Cesario Madrid, Arcenio Jr. and Crystal Madrid, Jeannie and James Aragon. Grandchildren- Adrienne and Andy Neely, Jason Chavez and Lubia Garcia, Michael Swick, Tomasita Swick, Elena Swick, Angelica Estrada, Gabrielle Madrid, Nadia Madrid, Katia Madrid, Dominic Madrid, Nieves Madrid, Mia Nelson, Francisco Nelson, Arcenio Madrid III, Lexi O’Flaherty, James Aragon, Aurielle and Josiah Senkevich. Great Grandchildren- Silas Chavez-McWhirter, Moises Ramirez, Nolan Swick, Daniel and Isidro Moreno, Santiago and Anthony Gonzales and Audrey Senkevich.
