Atocha Orona

Atocha Orona, age 95. On Thursday, March 9, 2023, our beloved mother, “Tocha” Orona was called home by our Heavenly Father. Tocha was born on June 22, 1927, ninety-five years on this earth was not enough for us. Tocha is survived by her daughter , sons, Luke Orona and wife, Connie, and George Orona Jr. and wife, Sharon, Carmen Valencia; grandsons, Brian Orona and wife, Georgiana, William Orona and wife, Julie, Jaime Orona, and Daniel Vivian and wife Norma ; granddaughters, Lisa Lesku and husband, Frank, and Jolene Valencia -Hollins; great-grandchildren, Olivia Orona, Javan Hollins, Katie Orona, Ashley Lesku, Dylan Lesku and Amy Orona; great-great granddaughter, Addison. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Orona Sr.; parents, Eduardo Gutierrez and wife, Juanita; sisters, Mary Widener, Sofia Moya; brother, Joe Gutierrez; and grandson, Jody Valencia. Tocha was a loving woman who cared for everyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand, from watching over our family, to always having a hot meal prepared for us. Thank you for the laughs, for the cries, and for everything in between. Thank you for making the world a better place just by being in it. Thank you for all the things you did, big and small. You were the heart of our family, and we will never forget the impact you had on our lives. You will be very missed by us all. Your love and memory will live in us forever. Tocha is preceded in death Lorenzo Gutierrez and sister Christina Contreras.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW with a Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Father Andy presiding. Interment will follow the Mass at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery 924 Menual Blvd. where she will be laid to rest with her husband, George Orona Sr. Pallbearers will be Brian Orona, William Orona, Jaime Orona, Daniel Vivian, Steven Widener, Louie Gutierrez, Javan Hollins, and Dylan Lesku.
