Bernice Angelina Ortiz

Bernice Angelina Ortiz, age 93, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque’s South Valley, passed away on August 10, 2025. Mrs. Ortiz is survived by her children, Margaret Baron and husband Ephraim, Carla Sweet and husband, Lawrence, Zachary Ortiz and wife, Anita, Clyde Ortiz, Gary Ortiz and wife, Sue; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zachary Ortiz, son, Charles Ortiz, brothers, Richard Durand and Prudencio Durand. A Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. A Mass will be held the following day on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. all to be held at Ascension Catholic Church 2150 Raymac Rd. SW with interment to follow at Pajarito Cemetery on the corner of Old Coors and Pajarito Rd.
