Carolyn Ruth Valdez

Carolyn Ruth Valdez, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on June 4th, 2026. Carol is survived by her children, Annette Leyba and husband Michael, Theresa Jaramillo and husband Chris, Tony Montoya, and Marc Montoya; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gilbert Valdez.

Nana was the heart of our family, a source of unconditional love, wisdom, patience, and comfort. She dedicated her life to caring for those around her, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, where family gathered, stories were shared, and memories were made. She was known for her kind spirit, gentle guidance, and unwavering devotion to her entire family. Nana touched countless lives and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, June 17th, 2026, at 6:30pm in The Gabaldon Memorial Chapel located at 1000 Old Coors Drive SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87121 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. A Final Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18th, 2026, at 8:30am with a Mass of the Resurrection to follow at 9:00am at St. Therese Catholic Church located at 3424 Fourth St NW Albuquerque, NM 87107. Internment will follow the services at Gate of Heaven Cemetery located at 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87109.
