Donald Sanchez

d. 4.23.14 SANCHEZ, DONALD (DON) LEE, age 67, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 23, 2014 with his family at his side. Don was born on September 14, 1946 to his parents, Fred A. and Luisa P. (Pacheco) Sanchez. He was a beloved husband, father, and brother. Don is survived by his beloved wife of twenty six years, Ruth; his sons, Jonathan Sanchez, and Ricardo Zamora and wife, Angela; his daughters, Tamara Sanchez, and  Denise Weisheit and husband, Douglas; grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Marissa, Alexander, Nicholas and Daniel; brothers, Luis A. Sanchez, William (Art) Sanchez, and Danny L. Sanchez; sisters, Josie Martinez, D. Eva Chavez, and Teresina Candelaria and husband, Eloy; sister in law, Nancy Sanchez; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Luisa; siblings, Fred Jr., Victoria, Luis, Horacio, Conrado, Manuel (Al), and Margaret A.; Don was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam Era. He grew up in Albuquerque and worked for Law Enforcement as a Corrections Officer until his retirement in 2007. Visitation will be Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 1: 30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW with a Rosary to be recited at 2:00 p.m. by Pat Muniz Roberts. Final visitation will be Monday, April 28, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at the Church with Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Father Peter Muller, presider. Interment is scheduled for the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.   Pallbearers will be Frank Candelaria, Joseph Griego, Alvin Cartwright, Ken Sanchez, Richard Locke, and Mark Candelaria.
