E. Rosina Salazar

May 24, 1931 — January 5, 2024

E. Rosina Salazar was a free spirit born May 24, 1931, in Espanola, New Mexico to Filomeno and Maria Anita Salazar. The term “Maverick” could be used to describe her, as there were very few women of that time who went on to be Certified Public Accountants (CPA’s), were world travelers, and a self-taught artist. Our “Tia Nina” was one of them, however, first and foremost, she spent her life grounded in her faith. Her love for Jesus was the cornerstone of her life and she joyfully shared her time and talents with Sacred Heart Catholic Church and her beloved community. She was a faithful member of the Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and spent much of her free time in service of the Church. Rosina was a beloved daughter, generous and loving aunt, and supportive sister. Her shining independent spirit and memory will be treasured by her nieces and nephews, Andrew Salazar, and wife, Cloudy, Marian Diaz and husband Phil, Mary Sandoval-Bitner, Anthony Sandoval and wife, Chris, Nadine Guadiola and husband, Pancho, and Carolyn Strong and husband, Dan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Filomeno and Maria Anita Salazar, siblings, Teresita Salazar-Jaramillo and husband, Fermin, Alice Sandoval, and husband. Juan, Phil Salazar, and wife Angie; nephews Harold and Ronny Salazar; and dear friend, Beto Morales. “Tia Nina” blazed a trail to heaven on her own terms and we are forever grateful for her example of courage and faith. Services for “Tia Nina” will be on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Sacred Heart Church in Espanola, NM; Rosary at 11:30am Mass at 12:00pm and a burial to follow services.
