Emily Chavez

Emily C. Chavez, age 87, born in La Joya, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018, with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Chavez is survived by her sister, Lori Castillo; children, Francine Gutierrez, Frank Chavez and wife, Kathy, Christina Chavez, JoLynne Chavez-Vigil and husband, Don Vigil; grandchildren, Erik Gutierrez, Victoria Gutierrez, Nicolette Gutierrez, Christopher Hinojos, Taylor Knabe, Sabrina Sacks, Katrina Chavez, Adrina Chavez, Rebekah Vigil, Julian Vigil, Joshua Vigil, Jacob Vigil; great grandchildren, Julius Hinojos, Darlene Hinojos, Parker Gutierrez, and Lynette Sacks. Mrs. Chavez was preceded in death by her husband, Amado Chavez; daughter, Darlene Knabe; granddaughter, Lynette Gutierrez; siblings, Margaret Sanchez, Fulgencio Castillo; and parents, Frank and Ascension Castillo. A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Drive S.W., with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m.; a final visitation will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
