Ernest Gomez Jr.

Ernest Gomez Jr., age 74, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on September 7, 2023. Ernest is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Ofelia Estrada Gomez; eight children, Liza Gomez, Marlene Maestas, Darlene Valdez, Ernest Gomez lll, Crystal Hensel, Maria DeLeon, Carlos Cervantes, and Joaquin Cervantes; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; several extended family members. Mr. Gomez served his country proudly and retired from the United States Army. Visitation will be held at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 309 Stover Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102 with a Rosary to be recited at 8:30 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow the services at the Santa Fe National Cemetery 501 N. Guadalupe St. in Santa Fe, New Mexico at 12:30pm. Pallbearers will be Robert Lujan, Ron Gomez, Miguel DeLeon, Joaquin Cervantes, Carlos Cervantes, Ernest Gomez lll, and Nestor Garcia.
