Francisco (Frank) A. Saavedra, age 77, born in, Luis Lopez, NM, and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 , surrounded by his family and loved ones. . Mr. Saavedra is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Saavedra-Mendez and husband, Julio, Karen Warnock and husband , Vance, Valerie Saavedra; brothers, Florencio (twin) Saavedra and wife, Juanita, and Ignacio Saavedra; grandchildren, Julio Mendez, Kiko Mendez, Natalia Mendez, Kassidi Gilgenast and husband, Erik, Gavin Warnock and wife, Brittany; great grandchildren, Gwendolyn Warnock and one on the way; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa; parents, Ezequiel and Eloisa Saavedra. Mr. Saavedra was a Veteran of the United States Army, a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church and an Usher during the 12:15 p.m. Mass. He retired after over thirty years of service with Vulcan Materials, and was known as, “Mr. Fix It”. Mr. Saavedra loved his family and friends and was known as a jokester, bringing a smile to everyone's face. Visitation will be Monday, February 13, 2017 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd NW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final visitation will be Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. The family wishes to give a heartfelt thank you to New Mexico Cancer Center and Compassus Hospice.
