Gorgonio “Gabe” Anaya, age 74, born in Alamogordo, New Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on August 3, 2023. Gabe is survived by his wife of forty years, JoDeen Anaya; children, Steven Anaya and Raelynn Garcia; grandchildren, Santiago, Gabriella, Gessica, and Genessa; siblings, Tony Anaya and wife, Sandy, Carmen Anaya, Patsy Anaya, Susan Brusuelas and husband, Henry, and Annie Anaya; brother in laws, Richard Romero of Seboyeta, New Mexico, Larry Romero of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Anthony Romero and wife, Doreen of Seboyeta; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pablo, and Lupe Anaya, father and mother in-law, Herman and Rosie Romero; brother, Pablo Anaya, sisters, Lucy Rodriguez and Lore Anaya. Gabe served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and was Honorably discharged in 1971. After thirty-five years, Gabe retired from the Department of Energy as a Computer Controller. A Visitation will be held on Wednsday, August 16, 2023 at 6:30pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm to be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd NW. A Final Visitation will take place Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 10:30am with a Mass to follow at 11:00am also to be held Holy Rosary. Interment with full Military Honors will take place Friday, August 18, 2023 at 12:30pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery 501 N. Guadalupe St. in Santa Fe, New Mexico where he will be laid to rest.
