Jacob Elijah Lara

Jacob Elijah Lara, age 23, passed away on May 3, 2026. He was born on October 27, 2002.Jacob graduated from Atrisco Heritage High School in 2021. He will be remembered for the joy he brought to those around him. He loved spending time with his family and had a deep passion for playing basketball. Known for his warm spirit and infectious energy, Jacob was often described as the brightest light in any room. He touched many lives and was deeply loved by all who knew him.He is survived by his brother, Adrian Leon; his loving aunts, Samantha Jones and wife, Pamela McEachern; grandparents, Leon Jones and wife, Roberta; grandmother, Gracie McEachern; aunts Jessenia Jones and partner, Andrew Raiford, Desirae Torres, Priscilla Eggert, husband Morgan, uncle, Leon Jones III and wife, Gabby, Nathaniel Jones and husband, Josh, David McEachern, wife Joy, Ben McEachern, wife, Michelle; Brianna Lara, several cousins, extended family members and countless friends.He is reunited in eternal rest with his mother, Johanna Lara, who passed away in 2015, his great-grandmother Theresa Carrejo, grandfather David McEachern Sr.Jacob’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. all to be held at Catholic Church of the Ascension located at 2150 Raymac Rd SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. A Burial will follow service to Pajarito Cemetery located at 2957 Arenal Rd SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121.
