Jacqueline (Jackie) Darlene Otero, age 62 went home to be with her Lord on Friday morning November 11, 2022, after fighting a 2-year battle of Renal failure. She was born December 22, 1959, in Belen, NM to Wilfred Otero and Cecilia D. Otero. Jackie attended Los Lunas High School, graduating in 1977 and attended New Mexico State University. Jackie worked for the State of New Mexico for 25 years, which included the Income Support Division and Child Support Enforcement Division. After finishing her distinguished career with the State of New Mexico, she began a long employment for the Federal government with the Social Security Administration where she retired in November of 2021. Jackie was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt and she will be truly missed by a lot of people. She never hesitated to help anyone in need and was driven to live her life according to her Catholic faith. Jackie is preceded in death by her parents Wilfred and Cecelia and several aunts and uncles. Jackie is survived by her lifelong partner, Oscar Portillo, daughter Pamela Brandt and husband Josh, son Phillip Otero and wife Stacey, two loving brothers, Al Otero and Twyla, Luke Otero and wife Patricia, and loving sister Bernadette Picchione and husband Tim. Jackie leaves behind eleven grandkids and a great-grandchild, six nieces and nephews, several great-nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 19, 2022, at San Clemente Parish 244 Luna Ave SE. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. followed by the reciting of the Holy Rosary and concluding with Mass at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation to be made in Jackie's name to the New Mexico Kidney Foundation nmkidney.org.
