In loving memory of James Daniel Abeyta, born on October 3, 1944, in Oakland, California, and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in San Acacio. Jimmy was a member of the band "The Midnighters," playing around New Mexico, where he caught the eye of his lifelong partner, Priscilla Abeyta. Together, they eloped to Santa Monica, California, and were blessed with three sons: David, Bryan, and Adrian.
Yearning for the warmth of New Mexico, he relocated his family, spending five years at the Maytag estate before settling in Albuquerque. It was in Albuquerque that he welcomed his third son, Adrian.
James was a man of diverse passions. His love for music, particularly '60s Oldies but goodies with favorites like Elvis Presley and the Beatles, filled his days. Even on his last days, he found solace enjoying the music of the '60s in his home. Playing the guitar and skilled in painting, he dedicated many years to his artistic pursuits. His adventurous spirit extended to the casino, where he relished rolling the dice and trying his luck at the slots. He also cherished moments at the horse races with his sons.
Life dealt him profound sorrows with the loss of his youngest son, Adrian, 15 years ago, and the passing of his beloved wife, Priscilla, 7 years ago. In his moments of solitude, he frequented the library, seeking comfort in printing copies of memories of his wife, Priscilla, always keeping them close.
James leaves behind a legacy of love, music, art, and a zest for life. May his spirit continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
He is survived by his sons, David, Bryan, and caring partner Kristalee, granddaughter MariahLee, Kehlani, brother Leonard and his wife Melissa, sisters Linda and Sylvia, and many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his brother Julian, sister Patsy, wife Priscilla, son Adrian, and his mother Sophie and Alfonso Abeyta.
