James “Jaime” Charles Chavez, age 84, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on March 4, 2024. Jimmy is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Cora Chavez; children, Denise Chavez, Anita Hamel and husband, Jim, Roberta Ricci and husband, Keith, Denise Purcella and husband, Albert, Terry Lynn Aragon, Debbie Sanchez, and Anna Garcia; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-two great- grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Mr. Chavez was preceded in death by his son, William Chavez. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 6:30pm with a Rosary to be recited by Steven Garcia at 7:00pm all to be held in The Gabaldon Memorial Chapel 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 22, 2024 at 9:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 509 Stover Ave SW with burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery 1900 Edith Blvd NE.
