Jinnie Sue Ortiz

Jinnie Sue Ortiz, 75, of Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 20, 2023. 

Sue was born in Sturgis, Kentucky on March 10, 1948, to her beautiful mother, Emma Mae (Harness) McCree. Sue was one of six; Larry, Phyllis, Judy, Ruth, and Arlene.

After a short romance, in June 1965, Sue married her handsome Paratrooper, Refugio J.D. (Teno) Ortiz. The newlyweds made their home in Las Vegas, NM. Later life would take them to Albuquerque. There they raised two rambunctious, yet wonderful children, Jennifer and Juan.

Sue was a lifelong seamstress, who worked until she retired in 1997 to help care for her firstborn Granddaughter, Emily. She was later blessed with four more Grandchildren, Johnathan, Ethan, Aliyah, and Suriah.

Sue was preceded in death by her mother, Emma, and her siblings. She is survived by her loving Husband of fifty-eight years, Teno, and her Children and Grandchildren: Jennifer, Juan, Emily, Johnathan, Ethan, Aliyah, and Suriah.

Visitation for Sue will be held on January 4, 2024, at 8:00 AM, at Holy Family Catholic Church (562 Atrisco Dr. SW Albuquerque, NM 87105) Rosary will be recited at 8:30 AM, with a funeral mass to follow. After mass, the family, would like to welcome everyone to join them for light refreshments to celebrate the life of this amazing woman.
