Joseph Michael Vukosovich

Albuquerque – Joseph M. Vukosovich, 51, passed away at Presbyterian Rust Medical Center on March 24th, 2023. Joe was born on December 6, 1971, the son of John Richard and Bonnie June (Bransetter) Vukosovich.

Joe graduated from Manzano High School, Class of 1990, and was a wide receiver on the varsity football team. In 1996 he met Andrea Winter and took her for a spin around the dance floor at Midnight Rodeo. They were married in 1998 officially becoming Joseph and Andrea Vukosovich and were together until 2016. During that time Andrea and Joe had three beloved sons; Ethan, Trevor, and Aidan Vukosovich.

Joe’s sons were his greatest accomplishment. Together they made memories of fishing, hunting, camping, and hiking. Joe enjoyed sharing the places that his father had taken him as a child and passed those traditions to his sons. An avid Denver Bronco fan, Joe and his sons took every opportunity to throw the ball around the yard and watch the games together on Sundays.

In December 2017, Joe ran into a high school classmate, Carrie Haas, and swept her off her feet. They were married on June 8, 2019. In late 2023, Joe decided to move back to Albuquerque to be closer to his sons. Joe was the love of Carrie’s life and they remained close until his death.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bonnie Vukosovich. Surviving are his sons, Ethan, Trevor, and Aidan Vukosovich, his sister Cellia Hoyle and her husband Toby, his brother John Vukosovich and his wife August, his nieces; Zoey, Reann, and Shelby, and nephews; Ryan, Stephen, Connor, and Zachary, as well as many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

A private service will be held at a future date for the family.
