Karen Tachias

d. June 21, 2023

Karen Ann Tachias, age 64, a loving mother of four, and adoring wife to husband, Peter Tachias, passed away on June 21, 2023. Karen Ann was born in 1958 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and grew up surrounded by her large family. Parents, Edwin, and Vera Martinez, nine siblings, and lots of aunties and uncles. Karen was influenced by her family to be a loving and caring woman.  She incorporated those values into her own motherhood. She met her husband Peter, in 1975. They fell in love, and knew they shared a love for family, so they decided to start their own. As a mother, she was generous, caring, loving, and kind. Karen became a grandmother, or should I say “Nana” and was absolutely thrilled about her family growing ever bigger now. Karen Ann loved to be surrounded by her family and friends. She loved to read her Bible daily and do crossword puzzles. She also loved to make those around her laugh, she had a great sense of humor. She never let her injuries or conditions affect her spirit. She will be greatly missed and is survived by her loving family; her husband of forty-five years, Peter; mother, Vera Martinez; four daughters, Felicia Tachias and husband, Louie Baca, Jessica Borroel and husband, Rudy, Franchesca Carrasco and husband, Hector, and Crystal Tachias; fourteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild; siblings, Lynn, Carol, Angie, and Larry. She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin, siblings, Terry Martinez, Marvin Martinez, Curtis Martinez, Ed Martinez, and Neven Martinez. We know that we can't have you here now, and we know we will see you again, so this is not goodbye, this is just, see you later to a wonderful woman, beautiful wife, and loving mother. A Visitation will be held in The Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, located at 1000 Old Coors Drive SW on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with a Vigil Service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery 1900 Edith Blvd NE. Pallbearers will be Elijah Borroel, Jose Parker, Raymond, Parker, Orlando Tachias, Santiago Tachias, and Julio Borroel.
