Lucas Barros

Lucas Lorenzo Barros, born August 31, 1981 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and a resident of Los Lunas, New Mexico, passed away on February 20, 2024. Under the guidance of his father, Lucas learned the construction trade and honed his skills for many years working for local contractors until starting his own remodeling business in 2018. Lucas was very hard working and talented at transforming living spaces for his clients. He also carried on the family tradition of being a very good cook and spent many hours in his father’s workshop creating artwork and woodworking. Together they completely remodeled and built an addition to the family home.

Lucas leaves behind his wife of six years, Jeannette Barros; children, Mariano Barros and Lucas Barros Jr.; mother, Lupita Moya-Zedalis and husband Gary; father, Anthony (Tony) Lawrence Barros; siblings, Margo Jiron and husband Mike, Eduardo Barros, and Patrick Zedalis. He was preceded in death by his brother, Andres Antonio Barros; grandparents, Epifanio D. & Caroline Barros, and Claudio Moya Sr. & Nora V. Moya.

May his soul be at peace and rest quietly in God’s kingdom.

A rosary will be recited at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd., NW on March 12, 2024 at 10:15 AM with a funeral mass following at 11:00 AM. Immediately after the mass, interment will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery on 1900 Edith Blvd., NE.
