Magdalena “Madge” Florinda Flores

Magdalena “Madge” Florinda Flores, age 96, born in El Rito, New Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on May 10, 2026. Madge is survived by her children, Irene Valdez, Donna Gunderson and husband, Glen, Felipe Flores, Oscar Flores and wife, Christine; grandchildren, Sharon Valdez and husband, Angel, Sheila Garris and husband, John, Ricky Ortega and wife, Marita, Erika Sanchez and husband, Francisco, Pablo Gunderson and partner, Claire Canfield, Dominic Flores, Merlinda Flores, Matthew Flores, Gabriel Flores, DeeAnna Flores; eighteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; six nieces and nephews from Salt Lake City and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Flores, son, Paul Flores, grandson, Adrian Ortega; parents, Roman and Irene Baca; siblings, Manuel Baca, Carlos Baca, Amelia Baca and Erlinda Vigil and husband, Gus. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in The Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by the Legion of Mary. Final Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church 5415 Fortuna Rd NW with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery 501 N. Guadalupe St. in Santa Fe, New Mexico  at 2:00 p.m where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Richard Flores. Pallbearers will be Rick Ortega, Pablo Gunderson, Dominic Flores, Matthew Flores, Gabriel Flores Christian Garris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sharon Valdez, Sheila Garris, Erika Sanchez and DeeAnna Flores.
