CHAVEZ, MAGDALENA, age 93, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away at home with her family at her side. Mrs. Chavez is survived by her daughter, Ida Chavez and husband, Joe; sons, Joe P. Chavez and wife, Ramona, Simon Chavez and wife, Ezra; brother, Max Peralta and wife, Esther; eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mrs. Chavez was preceded in death by her husband, Simon Chavez Sr.; and grandson, Nick Chavez. Visitation will be Thursday, February 27, 2014 at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Place NW from 7:45 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 8:15 a.m. by Lita Pino; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Chavez, Zack Chavez, Lawrence Chavez, Gilbert Chavez, Herman Chavez and John Paul Chavez.
