Maria Tillie Garcia

Maria Tillie Garcia age 82, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away on October 27, 2022. She is survived by her sisters, Theresa Tapia and husband, Larry, Frances Cruz and husband, Eddie, and Angela Sanchez; sister in-law, June Chavez; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carmen V. Garcia (Tin) parents, Eugenio and Melinda Chavez, and brother Carlos Gene Chavez. Tillie was a member of Las Mujeres since 1982. She graduated in the Class of 1958 from St. Mary’s Catholic School. She was also a member of the Bunco Buddies and the Catholic Daughters of America and one of the founding members of the Wine Divas. She proudly served her Catholic Community and retired from the Archdiocese of Santa Fe after forty-two years of service. Visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW on Monday November 7, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. also at Holy Family Church Father Patrick presiding. Interment will follow the services at Mt. Calvary Cemetery 1900 Edith Blvd NE. Pallbearers will be Larry Tapia ll, Carlos Cruz, Benjamin Cruz, Francisco Chavez, Carlos Chavez, Mark Sanchez, and Michael Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Christopher Lujan, Antonio Lujan, Pablo Lujan, Chris Sanchez, Ruben Gutierrez, and Rubel Jaramillo.
