Mary Helen Baca-Robinson

d. May 21, 2026

Mary Helen Baca-Robinson, from Albuquerque, born to Jose Miguel Baca and Pablita Baca, passed away on May 21, 2026 at the age of 83. She is survived by her children, Carl Robinson (wife Josie) and Barbara Myers (husband Mike), grandson Stevie Robinson (wife Anna), great-granddaughter Maria, her brother Ray Baca, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Helen (Elena) retired from the federal government several years ago and enjoyed her retirement. She liked traveling to visit her children and was happy to realize her dream of visiting New York City. She loved going to the casino and almost always came home a winner. While living in Hawaii, Helen excelled in being a pitcher in slow-pitch softball and was an outstanding bowler. She won multiple awards at the NM State Fair for her beautiful cross stitching, as well. Helen was born and raised in the South Valley and graduated from Rio Grande High School in 1961. The last year was incredibly difficult for her as she lost both of her sisters and dealt with her own illness. She also lost her life partner, Mark Rhodus, unexpectedly in 2023. Helen was preceded in death by her brothers Juan, Joe, Richie, and Robert as well as her sisters Rita and Soila. A special thank you to Manuel and Betty Myers, as well as Aurora Peña, aka Bory, for helping out so much after Mark’s passing. Thanks also to Serenity Home Assisted Living and ABQ Hospice for all the care and support provided to Helen. Cremation has already taken place and an interment service will be at a later date.
