Matthew J. Chavez, age 35, born in Grants, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away, Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Matthew is survived by his mother, Lisa Chavez; daughter, Evany Chavez; siblings, Raymond Chavez Jr., Tony Johnson-Chavez, Priscilla Chavez, and Frances Chavez; girlfriend, Sharon Nunez; grandparents, Raymond and Frances Johnson, and Victor and Thelma Chavez; the mother of his daughter, Kasey Martinez; numerous nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.   Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Chavez Sr.; and his sister, Marissa Chavez. Visitation will be Friday, June 19, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 117 Davis St., Clovis, NM with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m.; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Cisco Montoya, Broc Altieri, Eddie Altieri, Nathan Moya, Jason Johnson, and Raymond Johnson. Private disposition will take place at a later date.
