Novie Benavidez

Novie Benavidez was born Mary Precilla Noverta (Novie) Saiz in San Acacia, New Mexico, and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on January 6, 2026, with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Benavidez is survived by her children, Cecilia Lujan and husband, Rudy, Joe Larry Benavidez, Duane Benavidez and wife, Michelle, sisters, Marcella Chavez and Georgia Saiz. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother. Mrs. Benavidez was preceded in death by her parents, Benito and Francesquita Saiz, her husband, of sixty-six years, Joe C. Benavidez, sons, Danny and Raymond; grandson, Mario; brothers, Eusebio Saiz, Juanito (Johnny) Saiz, Ruperto (Lupe), Aristeo (Teo) Saiz and Tobias (Toby) Saiz. A special thank you to Legacy Home Healthcare and Hospice Staff, especially Vanessa and Kamela. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 10:45 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW with a Rosary to be recited at 11:15 a.m. A liturgy service will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery 500 N. Guadalupe St. in Santa Fe, New Mexico where Novie will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Joe C. Benavidez. Pallbearers will be, Anthony Abeyta, Marcos Atencio, Joseph Benavidez, Christopher Lujan, Antonio Lujan, and Pablo Lujan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andres Anaya, Nicholas Lujan, and Matthew Lujan.
