Ramon Martinez

U.S.Navy Petty Officer Ramon Lorenzo Martinez age 81, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on May 18 2025. Ramon is survived by is children, Ramon Martinez Jr. and wife Sandra, Leona Martinez, Giovanna Jaramillo and husband Jake; granddaughter Sophie Martinez; great-grand children, Daniel Chavez, Jade Chavez and Angel Chavez; Siblings, Carmen Jaramillo, Sylvia Lopez and husband Sam and Felix Martinez; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by parents Joe and Vera, and his wife Gloria Martinez. Mr. Martinez served his Country proudly with the United States Navy, and retired after twenty years with the rank of E 6 Chief Petty Officer. After serving his Country, Ramon then worked for the City of Albuquerque as a Corrections Officer. After retiring from Corrections, Ramon enjoyed traveling, fishing, and anything to do with maintenance, working on his house, gardening, loved his dog, and taking care of his family. Ramon was patient, kind and had a great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church 8301 Camino San Martin SW at 10:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with Military Honors 501 N. Guadalupe St at 1:30 p.m. where Mr. Martinez will be laid to rest with his wife, Gloria.
