Rumaldo “Maldo” Serna Jr., age 77, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 28, 2020. Mr. Serna is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Mary Lou Serna; daughter, Roberta Gallegos and husband, Michael; son, Frank Serna and Fiancee, Ronda Quintana; grandchildren, Ashley Gallegos and fiancé, John Martinez, Christopher Serna, and Sarah Serna; great-grandchildren, Angelina, Mariana, Cianna, and Maliyah; Goddaughter, Monique Mora; sister, Marcella Torres and husband, Mark; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Serna was preceded in death by his parents, Rumaldo Serna Sr. and wife, Rosella Serna; brother, Lorenzo “Lencho” Serna, Oliver Esquivel; sister; Abbie Casares. Maldo was a wonderful husband, and he was the best dad, grandpa, pampo (great grandpa) and brother ever. He had a heart of gold and was a jack of all trades. He was everyone’s “Mr. fix-it” as he could fix anything. He was a truck driver and also painted trucks for Serna’s Trucking Company for twenty-two years. He was also a mechanic for Fruehauf for twenty years. He retired at the age of 59 and enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved going camping and fishing with his wife and family. He was a great cook and he enjoyed playing golf with his friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. An Open Mass for Mr. Serna will be held Thursday, Feburary 4,2021 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 11:00am, anyone is welcome to attend. With a Burial to follow to Mount Calvary Cemetery.
