Seferina “Sefe” Chavez

Seferina “Sefe” Chavez (Garcia), age 94, born in Torreon, New Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on February 8, 2024. Seferina is survived by her children, Melquiades Chavez, Paulie Sosebee, Gary Chavez and wife, Vivian, Nadine Baca and husband, Frank; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother Ray Garcia and wife, Mary; son in-law, Robert Ayala several nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Chavez, daughter, Delora Ayala, daughter-in law, Yolanda Chavez, and grandson, Mel Chavez. A Visitation will take place Sunday, February 18, 2024 at 5:30pm with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00pm all to be held in The Gabaldon Memorial Chapel located at 1000 Old Coors Drive SW. A Final Visitation will take place Monday, February 19, 2024 at 8:30am with a Mass to follow at 9:00am all to be held at Holy Family Catholic Church 562 Atrisco Dr. SW with burial to take place in Torreon, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Roman Chavez, Isaiah Baca, Isaac Baca, Noah Calderon, Manuel Ayala, Paul Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Shelley Martinez, Melanie Chavez Sanchez, Jaquelynn Chavez, Miranda Chavez, Frank Baca, and Mike Chavez.
