Teresa Marie Martin

Teresa (Terri) Marie Martin, born on October 26, 1931, in Pekin, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026. Terri made Albuquerque her home beginning in 1952, where she raised her three children along with her beloved late husband, Henry Paul.

For more than 65 years, Terri was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she served her church community in countless ways. She was an active member of the local chapter of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, facilitated and participated in Bible studies with the Small Christian Community, and participated in the ACTS ministry. Through the Consolation Ministry, Terri compassionately helped families plan funeral liturgies for their loved ones and faithfully brought the Holy Eucharist to homebound parishioners. She also loved hosting get-togethers for fellow parishioners to enjoy watching and discussing The Chosen. As a dedicated member of the Catholic Daughters, she chaired and assisted with numerous fundraisers, dinners, and bake sales in support of their charitable mission.

Terri embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity, always finding new ways to stay active and creative. Family and friends eagerly anticipated her legendary chocolate chip and jubilee jumble cookies, which became a treasured tradition. After the age of 90, she took up Swedish weaving—a challenging craft that she enjoyed with patience and determination. Many family members were fortunate recipients of her beautiful handmade creations.

Following her retirement from the Social Security Administration, Terri discovered a passion for race walking and joined the Senior Olympics, eventually competing at the national level. She also found great joy as a member of Clowns of Enchantment, performing alongside her granddaughters, niece, and nephew to bring smiles to participants in the Special Olympics and residents of senior care facilities throughout the Albuquerque area.

Whether you knew her as Ma, Mom, Ma Martin, Grama, Aunt T., Bubs, Terri, or Wiggles, she touched countless lives with her kindness, humor, generosity, and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Terri is survived by her children, Laurie Roach, Rick Paul & Heidi Evans, and Gene Paul; her daughter-in-law, Lynn Paul; her grandchildren, Jason Roach & Heather Thayer, Danielle Roach & Jeff Thomason, Shelby Paul & Scotty Rasmussen; her brother, David Barresi; her sister, Cora Kirk; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Paul; her second husband, Richard Martin; her parents, Jasper and Teresa Barresi; and her brothers, Jasper Barresi Jr., Victor Barresi, Tony Barresi, and Mike Barresi.

Terri's legacy of faith, service, generosity, and love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

A Rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow mass in Rosario Hall at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary from 12:00 p.m.- 2:30 p.m.

Interment is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Monday August 24, 2026 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE.
