Timothy Michael Padilla

d. November 28, 2025

With broken hearts and immeasurable grief, we his children, Karlo, Ashlynne, and Joshua announce the passing of our beloved father, Timothy (Tim) Michael Padilla, on November 28, 2025. After a courageous four-year battle with cancer, he passed peacefully at our mother’s home, surrounded by his family.

Tim was born in 1944 to Daniel and Juanita Padilla, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Diana Padilla and Judy Padilla; his brother, David Padilla; and David’s wife, Joy.

He is survived by Jeannie Serrano-Padilla; the mother of his children and the person who lovingly opened her home to him when he could no longer care for himself; his children, Karlo Serrano (Pam Romero), Ashlynne Serrano-Padilla, and Joshua Padilla (Jade Rivera); his grandchildren, Kasey Serrano (Esteban Garcia) and Karlee Serrano Santibañez (Justin Santibañez); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends—too numerous to name. He also leaves behind his loyal and precious dog, “Blue,” who never left his side.

Tim’s early education began at St. Mary’s Grade School and St. Pius X Catholic High School. Upon graduation, he immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and remained immensely proud of his service as a Vietnam Veteran. After returning home, he enrolled at UNM, where he earned his Law Degree. UNM was a place where he thrived enjoying the challenges of academic studies and forging lifelong friendships.

His esteemed and distinguished 49-year career as an attorney, specializing in civil and criminal law, remains a powerful part of his legacy. Tim was a brilliant, knowledgeable, and compassionate advocate who defended his clients with unwavering dedication and exceptional competence. He also gave generously of his time to those who could not afford legal representation. He was honored as one of America’s Top 100 Defense Attorneys, recognized among the nation’s most exceptional legal minds.

As adults, we were blessed to experience life with him in unforgettable ways—sporting events, world tours, superstar concerts, road trips, and quality time that became treasured memories. He lived a life filled with adventure and joy: race-car driving, flying planes, traveling the world, infamous boating and lake trips, and proudly being a #1 Rolling Stones fan. Tim loved life, and he lived it to the absolute fullest.

Go with the angels, dear Father, they’re waiting for the fun to begin.

We would also be remiss not to thank the wonderful caretakers who cared for him with such compassion and warmth: Aaron, Annette, Nurse Sheri, Cristi, Monica, and Julianna. We are deeply grateful for your kindness to our father.
