Udella Berna Romero

Udella Berna Romero, age 69, was born to Agneda Benavidez in Petaca, New Mexico on April 21, 1955. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, she passed away on June 9, 2024. She is survived by her partner and lifelong companion, Lander M. Sanchez; sister, Lucia Lovato; brother, Ernesto Jaramillo; uncle, Seberio Benavidez; her beloved dogs, Conchita, and Coco; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members, and dear friend to both Udella and Lander, Daniel Clapps. Udella attended both high school and college and worked in several places like the City of Albuquerque’s Police Department, APS, Walgreens Pharmacy, and Walmart, where she made many friends along the way. Udella had a way of brightening up any room with her sunny smile, warmth, and kindness. She enjoyed life and all it offered her. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and keeping an orderly home. Many described her as a ball of fire, always laughing and dancing, a true life of the party. She was truly a sweetheart, very kind and generous and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Agneda Benavidez, sister, Rosa Martinez, brother, Jerry Benavidez, and several family members. Visitation will be held at Holy family Catholic Church 562 Atrisco Dr. SW on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 8:30 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Blas Sanchez, Lorenzo Hubbell, Daniel Clapps and Mike Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers will be all her nieces and nephews.
