Viola Maria Ashcroft

Viola Maria Ashcroft, age 91, born in Coyote, New Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on April 21, 2026. Viola loved to dance, play cards, travel, host family parties, as well as make bread and chile rellenos. She had several jobs before retiring from Honeywell in 2001. Viola is survived by her children, Roger (Brenda) Whisenhunt, Glorianna (Robert) Lee, John (Trish) Whisenhunt and Minnie Baker; step-children, Rex Ashcroft Jr., John (Sherri) Ashcroft, Terri (Gary) Ashcroft Neely; lots of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband Rex Ashcroft, son, Edward Whisenhunt, daughter, Georgia Trujillo and step-son Shannon Ashcroft. Pallbearers include Leroy Herrera, Gabriel Whisenhunt, Eric Gore, Thomas Franich, Troy Lee, and John Jaramillo Jr. A Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. all to be held in The Gabaldon Memorial Chapel located at 1000 Old Coors Drive SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121. A Burial will follow services to Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 8710
