Vita was born in Albuquerque and was a life-long resident. She passed away on August 21, 2025. She is survived by her sisters Florence Saavedra Sisneros and Joyce Saavedra, her cousins Carol Saavedra and Luis Apodaca, her brother-in-law Ray Sisneros Sr., her nieces and nephews, Janet Sisneros Lehr, Joseph Sisneros Jr., Karen Sisneros, and their husbands Mark Lehr and Kevin Minne, her great niece and nephew Natalie Lehr and Austin Lehr. Vita was a career educator and her passion was public education. She began her career teaching with Albuquerque Public Schools as a teacher at Chaparral Elementary. She was a principal with APS at Ranchos Elementary and Longfellow Elementary. After completing her doctorate degree, Vita taught educational leadership at UNM’s College of Education. Vita also shared her gift of leadership at our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church and the Norbertine Abbey. She is preceded in death by her sister Anna Saavedra. All services will be held on August 29, 2025 at Our Lady of Most Holy Rosary Church.

9:00 am Mass of Resurrection

10:30 am internment at Mount Calvary Cemetery Chapel

Reception following internment at Our Lady of The Most Holy Rosary Church.
