Miguel Saavedra

Miguel Ricardo Saavedra, (Calo) age 93, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on March 28, 2022. He served in the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran. Mr. Saavedra was a long-time local New Mexico Musician who sang with several groups, including the well-known Cuarteto Nuevo Mexicano. Mr. Saavedra is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Criselda; children, Ralph Saavedra, Anthony Aragon, Veronica and Richard Gutierrez, Debbie Aragon and, John Lopez, Lisa and Benny Baca, Gracie and Paul Aragon, Jimmy and Debbie Aragon, Mary, and Johnny Vigil, Nabor and Renee Aragon, and Richard Aragon; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Miguel Saavedra, and mother, Pemilia Saavedra, son, Albert Saavedra, brothers, Luis Saavedra, and Juan Saavedra; sisters, Pauline Gonzales, Trisa Saavedra, Dixie Ortiz and Della Wood. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 7:45 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church 1400 Arenal Dr. SW with a Rosary to be recited at 8:15a.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow Mass at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Albert Saavedra, Jason Padilla, Miguel Gonzales, Joe Ortiz, Faustino Farmer, and Oracio (Chris) Cortinas. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Paul Padilla, Leroy Saavedra, Isiah Saavedra, Michael Saavedra, Ernie Saavedra and Nabor Aragon. A bereavement reception will be held In the St. Anne Parish Hall following the burial.
